Hey barton, instead of doing 20 pushups, try doing a harder variation within the rep range of 4-8 for strength, or 8-12 for hypertrophy. Once you have reached the highest amount of reps within the rep range that you prefer, move to an even harder variation. Anything above 15 reps will only work muscular endurance. Also try to get a horizontal pulling exercise (such as inverted rows, which you can do from under a table) in there as you want to keep the balance between pushing and pulling exercises. If you have the time, don’t neglect abs (with leg raise progressions) and lower back (supermans to start off, then move on to hyperextensions on a dip station).

My doctor said it's a strained hamstring, but he was relatively unhelpful with any further advice, other than prescribing me an anti-inflammatory and giving me a packet of stretches to do. So what I want to know is if this is something I can and should run through. Because I'm a pretty inexperienced runner, I don't know if this is a pain that others feel regularly and just power through while I'm being a total wimp! I'm sure you're hesitant to make generalizations, but is there a general rule of thumb when it comes to returning to running with a strained hamstring?

Hi i have been having sharp pains in my outer knee for 3 months when it seems like it is getting better after a week or 2 of rest and i go rugby training or gym ( A LOT OF RUNNING) it gets bad again and about an hour after a long run the outer knee joint feels hot for a while is it ITB? these pains started when i was increasing my time on theadmil by 5 mins each time i went gym (often) i am young and can’t live my life without sport. i want to know is it ITB? what should i not do? can i do any cardio in the gym to warm up? My question for today is, more than a week ago I lie in sphinx position and tried to do Superman exercise that I haven’t done for a while, but when I tried, I felt sharp pain on my right hamstring which is my sciatic leg, i immediately stop, since then my pain in my right leg is worse now. I don’t understand why is worse, because I’m not in slouching forward position, did I somehow push the gel out more now? By overdoing the Superman? Is it just inflammation? I’ve seen my chiro and he said time will take care of it.
My tail bone is too inward that my l4-l5 pinch my nerve for 3 years now. Cobra exercises helps me a lot. 33 yrs male. Cyclist.
